Aasmah’s first book “A Pebble in the Throat” was published in hardcover by Headline in 2023. It was renamed “A Glasgow Girl” when it was published in paperback in 2024. It is a dual memoir, following her childhood in Glasgow in the 1970s and 1980s and that of her mother in 1950s Pakistan and 1970s Glasgow. Themes of family, identity, disability and loyalty are explored in this story that spans 50 years and two continents. You can buy the book here.
